GTM Resources - Partner Video Guide
Overview
This document is intended to provide guidance on developing a published video of an integration with the ThreatConnect Platform. The primary audience for this document will be ThreatConnect Developer Partners. A video contribution to the Platform can serve as a powerful reference and also allows it to be easily consumed.
Video Focus
We recommend that you provide a video with a Usage and Enablement Focus - communicating the specific features and/or functions of your integration:
You will provide video segments capturing most (if not all) of your functionality.
You will describe what inputs are needed and what results are provided.
This focus is the most broadly applicable as it informs someone tactically on how they can use the integration and is seen as a piece of reference information rather than sales collateral.
Video Target Audience
Your video’s audience will be public and you should consider the users below your general audience based on this table:

Because of this, details should be communicated in a way that can be broadly understood by all of the consumers. We also encourage the content to be technical-leaning but should avoid overly-technical concepts (which can be included as a focus in your User Documentation):
Scripting inputs or heavily-formatted inputs (JSON objects)
Specific data structures
Complex concepts that cannot easily be simplified in a few statements
Video Script
It is highly recommended that you develop a script (based on this guide’s structure below) that has the high-level points for each portion of your video. Developing a script will help to ensure that you communicate all of your points and also guide you through your narration. We do not recommend directly reading from a script unless you have experience doing so as this can often sound unnatural.
It is recommended that you separate capturing on-screen video from your narration activities so that you focus on one item at a time. Use a video editor to combine both together.
It is recommended that your video is no less than 2 minutes and no longer than 5 minutes to ensure that it garners and retains the appropriate interest amongst the target audience.
Video Branding
You should plan on applying your own branding to the video in general but, as a Technology Partner, we can provide you with permission to use the ThreatConnect logo in your video. In addition, you are expected to provide a light visual intro and outro on your video. This can be as simple as a full-screen view of presentation slides with your branding.
Video Structure
We’ve found the following structure works well for this sort of video:
(1 minute) Your product high-level overview and value prop
(1 minute) ThreatConnect Platform high-level overview and value prop
(2 minutes) Your integration value described in detail
(1 minute) Wrap-up with joint-value propositions
Based on the structure below, we’ve provided some specific guidance for each one of these points in the sections below:
Your Product High-Level
In this segment of the video, provide the audience with a high-level understanding of your product. Some ideas of what to communicate:
Product category (EDR, Firewall, TI provider, etc)
Specific areas of focus
Up to three traits that distinguish your brand or offering
It is recommended that you provide videos or screenshots of your Platform as the visual element during this segment. Using slides is permitted but may not be as engaging for your audience. Your scripted speech does not need to directly relate to what is being seen on the screen during this time.
ThreatConnect Platform High-Level
We will supply this segment of the video for you based specifically on how your integration interfaces with our Platform. For example, if you contribute a Threat Intelligence feed, we will provide a segment that focuses on our Threat Intelligence Platform features.
Your Integration Value
In this segment, focus on showing the value of your integration. Show up to 4 functions of your integration. With each function:
Lightly describe how someone makes use of it.
Lightly describe the common benefits of using it.
It is recommended that you show video of your integration in use and the outcomes of the benefits that you’re explaining. Your scripted speech should relate directly to what is being seen on the screen during this time. Use screen highlighting features to show specifics of where you’re focusing within your video during each point you make.
Wrap-Up With Joint-Value and Action
In this segment, focus on reiterating the key points from the previous portions of the video. Use slightly different language to communicate your message:
Reiterate the high-level value proposition of both your solution and ThreatConnect.
Reiterate the high-level value proposition of the integration.
Finish with a call to action: How to obtain the integration and a getting started trajectory.
Publishing Your Video
Completing your video can be an exciting process. Follow these steps in order to ensure that the publishing of your video goes smoothly:
Please allow ThreatConnect to review your video and make suggestions before you publish the video to any audience.
Please publish your video to YouTube primarily. This is requested primarily to ensure accessibility of the video to all of the applicable audiences and technologies.
If YouTube is unavailable to you, Vimeo is requested.
Ensure that you have an appropriate intro and outro applied to your video with your branding.
Once your video is published, ensure that your video is appropriately linked in any existing or future items related to the integration such as integration listings, blogs, or data sheets.
